Why does this passage receive no comments? Too much Rapture talk around to risk it?
Are our members really ready for death? Are we avoiding the questions that we feel? Are we really satisfied with pat answers (which are used pretty much by Christian or non-Christian people.)
No, I will be preaching on Stewardship this week (with noted reference to Eric's 10/27 excellent sermon!).
Is there always something else, something a bit more positive to preach on?

I think this text is a good way to follow up with all saints images (maybe curiosity from listeners after last week's sermon) especially concerning the church's teaching on the communion of saints, the presence of christ in the sacrament and his coming again not as separate historical events but a way of dealing with the mystery of God's time...(we call God's time a delay!!!)
